I Marchi dell'Argenteria Italiana
By Ugo Donati
Published by Istituto Geographico DeAgostini
Listed in the book's 265 pages are over 1000 marks for Italian Silversmiths organized by the type of mark encountered. For example, animals as marks are together. The marks are drawn rather than photographs - which is actually easier to scan for an unknown mark.
It is easy to locate a mark and then the vital data that the mark reveals. The artist's name, history, dates, et cetera are included next to the mark. However, the entire book is in Italian, thus you will need to understand Italian or have a dictionary handy
If you appraise Italian silver then this is a must-have acquisition for your reference library.
